Individuals & Families

Individuals & Families

Assisting single parent families has been our primary focus. Our goal is to help individuals and families that are ready to move forward, those ready to move from struggling to successful (however they define successful). Since that is difficult for us to determine via an application or phone call, we turn to non-profits and churches for referrals.

Although we make financial contributions directly to organizations, we prefer in-kind donations for items requested by families.

At Risk Youth

At risk and homeless youth have little to no support from family or friends, many are lonely because they feel they don’t ‘fit in’ with their peers. Through our relationships with Covenant House Chicago, Reclaim13 and many others, we have become acutely aware of the heartache facing many of our youth.

Elderly

We try to alleviate some of the stress seniors face by helping with their unique challenges.

Community

With the onset of Covid-19, shelters found themselves with the logistical nightmare of having to immediately relocate their clients into apartments. Logistics was only one element of the complicated equation. They needed furniture, essential personal and home supplies, movers, food...all while maintaining safety from this unknown virus. To complicate matters, workers had the additional stress of accomplishing this while working from home. I can only imagine how this depleted organization’s emergency reserves and other funds.

Typically, spring and summer is when most charity organizations hold their annual fundraisers. The donations raised at these events get them through the year. Initially, spring fundraisers were rescheduled for summer. However, as time went on, they were forced to cancel all fundraisers.

We are surrounded by organizations that have wrapped their arms around their community. The compassion for humanity has risen far above the wrath of Covid.
